Rose Alicia Allen - Power Vinyasa Yoga Rose has been studying movement since she started taking ballet at the age of seven. Though dance has played a significant role in her life since then, only in the past few years did she discover the complementary practice of yoga. Rose loves the way that her choreographic dance background strongly influences her yoga sequencing and creativity, and the way her yoga practice strengthens and balances her body and awareness in her dancing. She hopes to share her passion for dance and yoga with movers of all ages and levels and to foster in her students both power and grace in their movement and in the rest of their lives.

Mario Sanchez-Palacios - Candlelight Yoga Flow A long-time Berkeley resident who grew up in Lima, Peru, Mario took his first yoga class in 2014 and it was love at first sight. He quickly recognized that yoga was a powerful tool for helping him overcome his long battle with depression - both through his regular practice and by joining a community in which he found a welcoming home. In the years since, he has been able to navigate life with greater ease, joy, and conviction. Mario completed his 200-hour training in early 2015. He is passionate about inspiring others to discover the physical, spiritual, and mental benefits of yoga - and, simply, to thrive. Mario continues to further his education through workshops and trainings and is currently pursuing an additional 300 hours with Janet Stone Yoga in San Francisco. His classes can be described as welcoming, grounding, and challenging, with a focus on building strength from within. Inspired by a wide variety of themes, he invites students to empower their minds throughout class by bringing all attention to the present moment without judgement or expectation, leading to an overall enhanced sense of well being.

Alissa Gibbins BenPorat - Gentle Pilates Mat A native Oaklander, Alissa loves helping people bring their tough, tired, and tender spots back to life with the Pilates method. Every class weaves in breath, mindful movement, and a healthy level of challenge where students of all ages, sizes, and abilities leave feeling revitalized, centered, and strong.   Her background in movement began with singing and dancing as a kid, and never stopped. She loves how music and movement unleash the spirit and the body--these mediums are her joy and her comfort. Her various injuries have been her greatest teachers, driving her to study energetic modalities, functional anatomy, Pilates, strength training, and neuroanatomy over the last decade.   She's grateful to work everyday as a personal trainer with real, complex bodies and the amazing spirits that they house. When not at work, you'll find her playing in her garden, napping, singing, or planning an adventure.

Alexis Read - Barre First and foremost, Alexis is a dancer.  She has been dancing for as long as she can remember, and because that’s how she perceives all human movement, and really all of life: a chaotic and beautiful dance of the elements.  She came to Pilates, and everything else that she studied and now practices, because she had some physical limitations that inhibited her from dancing as freely as she wanted to.  She's continued down this path because she's endlessly fascinated by, and gain deep satisfaction through, helping others dance more freely in their own lives–- whatever that might mean.  She appreciates barre classes as a way to dance your way through a workout, whether you have any formal dance training or not!

Brandon Osborne - Deep Flow For Brandon, to teach yoga and to practice yoga are one in the same. There is not a time where he feels more connected than when guiding his students through asana. It all started back in the summer of 2013, when his brother dragged him to his first Power Vinyasa class. Immediately Brandon was hooked, and knew that he needed more of this blissful butt kicking in his life. He joined a local studio in his hometown of Los Angeles, and after a year of practice, completed his 200 hour Power Yoga Teacher Training. He has since then participated in a Hot Yoga teacher training, as well as a number of continuing education programs. Brandon has taught at studios across the Los Angeles and Bay Area, and continues to lead arm balance, back bending, and safe mobility workshops. Expect his class to be a slow burn, with a deep focus on breath, postural alignment, and muscle action cues. When Brandon is not teaching yoga, you can catch him making a mess in the kitchen, watching Top Chef, reading a book, or writing poetry.

Sara Wilson - Barre A native of Camarillo located in Southern California, Sara grew up always being outside and playing sports. She started running and playing soccer at the age of 5 and never wanted to stop. As much as she loved both activities, her knees didn’t. After dealing with multiple knee and ankle injuries, Sara turned to barre and pilates classes as a substitute. She immediately fell in love with barre and after only a month saw a difference in her body and joints.   After years of taking other peoples' classes, she decided to become a barre instructor to help students achieve their own health goals. She hopes to bring a spunky athletic spirit to barre classes and share her love of barre.

Jenny Maier - Power Vinyasa Yoga As a long time athlete and runner, Jenny started practicing yoga to counterbalance all her other activities and eventually fell in love with both the practice of yoga as well as the art of teaching it to others.    Jenny's background as a personal trainer, running coach and self-proclaimed biomechanics and anatomy nerd ignited her interest in a professional path in yoga, an RYT200 certification in 2016 and most recently completing an additional 300 hours training with Jason Crandell, earning an RYT500 certification in July 2018.    Jenny has an alignment-based focus, allowing students to feel the practice of yoga differently in their bodies as they grow a strong mind-body connection both on and off the mat.  You can expect her classes to focus on attention to both the fluidity and precision of breath and movement during the vinyasa practice.  Classes will include custom playlists and fun, challenging, balanced sequences with options for all levels of practitioners including an instructional breakdown of more advanced postures.  When she isn't teaching, you can find Jenny running the trails behind Vita's studio or taking awesome selfies with her dog, Henry.
